Australian metal act Cloak & Dagger will release its new EP, 'Balance,' later this year. In anticipation, the band has teamed up with Revolver to premiere its new song, "Ruin." Check it out below and let us know what you think in the comments.

Vocalist Jordan Phoebe said, "Conceptually, 'Ruin' is about the apocalypse. The whole world is being torn apart and ancient monstrosities are being unearthed. Lyrically, there is a pervasive sense of helplessness and resignation to the end. This song is necessary within the structure of the EP to represent the lowest point, the point of giving up, which makes the eventual decision to go on living at the EP's end all the more powerful."

Guitarist Oli Royer added, "'Ruin' was created from a desire I had to write something stripped back in comparison to my normal writing style. No frills or fancy ornaments, just straight up heavy and hard hitting riffs. The appeal is in the simplicity. To me this lets the instruments fall into their respective pockets, allowing the vocals to really shine through."

HellyeahArticle_0_0.jpg

When heavy metal supergroup Hellyeah were looking for a song to cover for their new album, 'Unden!able,' guitarist Christian Brady suggested Phil Collins' 1982 hit "I Don't Care Anymore." It suddenly struck drummer Vinnie Paul that he and his brother, the late Dimebag Darrell, recorded that song with their post-Pantera band, Damageplan, more than a decade ago. However, their version never saw the light of day.

Intrigued by the thought of a lost Dimebag guitar solo (on the very song they wanted to cover in 2016), Hellyeah hit the studio—and employed some studio magic.

"When Kevin [Churko, producer] got the tracks isolated, he synched them up, and when we listened them it totally gave me goosebumps," Paul told RollingStone.com. "We've always felt like he's been a part of this band since day one. We felt like his energy and his spirit was always with us. And for people to be able to hear him again in 2016 puts a big smile on my face."

"It was like Dime was in an iso-booth tracking in the next room while I was singing my parts," adds vocalist Chad Gray. "Tracking that song was one of the most magical moments I've felt in my entire career. … After we recorded the first four vocal lines, Kevin called me on the intercom and said, 'I'm just gonna tell you right now. You're gonna be singing this song for the rest of your life. It's going to be amazing."

Kansas City-based electronic-metal act The Browning will release its new album, 'Isolation,' on June 24 via Spinefarm Records. In anticipation, the band has teamed up with Revolver to premiere its new song, "Dragon." Check it out below and let us know what you think in the comments!

Vocalist Jonny McBee said, "Over the course of the last three years, rock music is primarily all I've listened to. I've been ingesting bands like Rammstein, Disturbed and Three Days Grace. My writing swung towards that. I knew this album was going to have more of a rock vibe. Obviously, there's still metal, but the scope has expanded. The electronics remain a big part of it. Since day one, the whole point was to not only be the heaviest electronic band, but the band with by far the most electronics.

"'Isolation' is by far the best album The Browning has done yet. It has everything I wanted in it and nothing is missing. It shows how the band has progressed and matured since our last release. So, I cannot wait for the world to hear it."

Swedish progressive metal act Wolverine will release its new album, 'Machina Viva,' on July 8 via Sensory Records. In anticipation, the band has teamed up with Revolver to premiere its new song and music video, "Our Last Goodbye." Check it out below and let us know what you think in the comments!

Vocalist Stefan Zell said, "One of my favorite Wolverine songs to date. I just loved the music the guys came up with. When it was time for me to write the lyrics I was in the middle of divorcing the mother of my children whom I had lived together with for almost 13 years. It was quite natural that this song dealt with all of that stuff. I'm not emotionally in the same place today as I was back when the lyrics was written during the first half of 2014, that's for sure, but it's nice to have this song to look back upon and remember the emotions I was going through then."

Musically, drummer Marcus Losbjer said, "The core ideas for this song came about through a jamming session in Stockholm with Per, Thomas and myself. At the end of that day we knew we had something but we were not exactly sure what we had. I took it home and put up a draft in Logic to build on, put some guitars on it and sent it to Per to continue working on it. As a lot of the songs on this album, it has been a collaborating operation between me and Per sending stuff to each other back and forth between Stockholm and Söderhamn through a collaborating service called Splice, with which you can sync each others projects in Logic and other DAWs."

And bassist Thomas Jansson added, "Like Marcus states, this song was born basically through jamming–it sort of wrote itself in terms of its basic structure. As the song was developed I sort of ended up in a t where I actually didn't like it very much, mainly due to some particular parts of it. In the end however, I think it came out really well, and the french horn that you hear in different parts of the song adds such a grey, gloomy and powerful character. I just love the melancholy it brings to the song."
