Me And That Man, the gothic folk project from Behemoth frontman Nergal and British/Polish musician John Porter, have released their latest single, "Cross My Heart and Hope to Die," along with an accompanying music video. The song is taken from their debut album, 'Songs of Love and Death,' which is due March 24 via Cooking Vinyl. The song and video are available below.

"I need Me And That Man to keep the balance, as the potential of my mother band seems limitless. It gets bigger and bigger, more advanced and more sophisticated... and darker ...and blacker. But Me And That Man is at the opposite pole, artistically speaking. This is not happy music, but it's liberating," commented Nergal.

In an Instagram post regarding the song and video, Nergal wrote: "Me And That Man's new video for 'Cross My Heart And Hope To Die.' I remember I was racing the streets of Berlin's Mitte when this song literally appeared to me! I ran to the nearest coffee place and started writing versus like crazy...! The working title for a long time was 'A song I wrote in Berlin' or simply 'Berlin song.' I would love to send my deepest gratitude and respect to Czeslaw Mozil for playing accordeon in the choruses and Kev Fox and Down Kosmos from Figo Fagot for backing me up with gang vocals! And last but not least these amazing apocalyptic kid's choir and their parents for balls and courage! Piotr Sejt Hinz and Kinga Dubicka. I owe u! Enjoy!"

Nergal also explained the bad luck he had while filming the video, including breaking a rented guitar, for "Cross My Heart and Hope to Die" in two additional lengthy Instagram posts, which you can view here and here.

Cornell.jpg

Soundgarden singer Chris Cornell has shared "The Promise," his newest solo song which will appear on the soundtrack from the film of the same name. The song and its accompanying lyric video are available below.

Starring Oscar Isaac, Christian Bale and Charlotte Le Bon and directed by Academy Award winner Terry George, 'The Promise' takes place during the Armenian genocide. The film's themes rang close to home with Cornell as he has heard stories from his family about the adversities faced by the Greek community during the years of Ottoman Empire's reign. "If it's something you or your family members went through, it's something you're faced with confronting on a daily basis," he commented.

Cornell added: "The film and plot are your band mates and the song has to be true to the story and the characters in it. 'The Promise', to me, is mainly about paying homage to those we lost in the Armenian Genocide, but it's also about shining a light on more recent atrocities. The same methods used in the Armenian genocide were used to carry out crimes against humanity in Bosnia, Darfur, Rwanda and right now in Syria on multiple fronts, contributing to a massive global refugee crisis. Unfortunately, the words 'never again' seem like just words when we recall these mass executions of the twentieth century, as well as renewed racism and prejudice around the world. Even in the U.S., the warning signs — isolating groups based on race and religion — are evident. We really need to tell these stories and keep telling them in as many different ways as we can. As humans, we have a tremendous capacity to trudge ahead in our lives and not look at the difficult and challenging moments… but I think it's important. Educating ourselves on the past is the best way to understand the present and avoid future atrocities by understanding and intervening. We must educate and stand as one to combat this fear and violence, and as citizens of the world, work to protect each other's human rights."

All proceeds made from Cornell's song will be donated towards the International Rescue Committee, which aids in humanitarian crises around the globe by providing healthcare, education, safety and more to those who have been overcome by disaster.

'The Promise' opens in theaters on April 21.

In L.A., they call Instagram 'Jacker's Uber,' seeing what clubs people are at and livestream the robbers to their front door."

Conjonctive.jpg

Switzerland-based death-metal sextet Conjonctive will release their new album, 'In the Mouth of the Devil,' on March 10 via Tenacity Music. In anticipation, the band has teamed up with Revolver to premiere the entire new album stream right here, right now! Check it out below and let us know what you think in the comments!

Vocalist Randy Schaller said, "The writing process of this album was pretty difficult. We released our first album on October 2013 and a few months after we won two awards (song of the year and rock category) at the m4music, a national music competition in Switzerland. That was the first time a metal band was winning something out there. After that, we took a long time before writing the first new song. That's the reason why 'In the Mouth of the Devil' will be released in March 2017. We took our time and now we are really happy of these 10 new songs. We think they sound more mature and aggressive."
