2020 Grammy Awards: Tool, Killswitch Engage, Death Angel, More Nominated

The Grammy Awards have rarely shown much good sense when it comes identifying and rewarding the best in metal and hard rock, but it never stops being intriguing and perplexing to see who the recording academy chooses to highlight out of the heavy-music pack. Last year, stoner-thrash titans High on Fire shockingly (in a positive way) took home the trophy for Best Metal Performance, and this year's list of nominees in that arena — as well as in the Best Rock Performance, Best Rock Song and Best Rock Album categories — span a variety of subgenres, from arena-packing giants like Tool to underground heroes like Death Angel. 

The 62nd Grammy Awards ceremony is set to go down at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on January 26th, 2020.
