Here at Revolver, we're always on the hunt for new songs to bang our heads to — indeed, it's a big part of our jobs. With that in mind, here are the tracks released this week in metal, hard rock and hardcore that have been on heavy rotation at Revolver HQ. For your listening pleasure, we've also compiled the songs in a Spotify playlist, which will grow each week.

Giver - "Sculpture of Violence"
Germany's Giver brings true, old-school hardcore vibes on their unbeatable banger "Sculpture of Violence." Replete with gang-vocal choruses and a dreamy mid-song breakdown that stretches the tension like gossamer sinew, the song takes on a whole new mood when viewed in tandem with the beautiful crafted short film that comes with it. Watch and listen with the volume cranked.

Marilyn Manson - "The End"
Manson's 2019 emergence as a cover-song cowboy is a welcome new transformation from the chameleonic shock rocker. When Jim Morrison was crooning the haunting lyrics to this timeless classic in late 1960s Los Angeles with his back to the crowd, he surely couldn't have imagined the tumultuous southern-gothic reimagining it would get by the Pale Emperor and his outlaw-country cohort Shooter Jennings half a century on, but something in the droning, spacious horror of this dark lullaby iteration suggests the Lizard King wouldn't disapprove.

Street Sects - "If Life Is a Gift, It's in Very Poor Taste"
Industrial-punk duo Street Sects have become masters of a signature sound, mutating and finessing it into an entirely different experience from release to release. In that vein, "If Life Is a Gift, It's in Very Poor Taste" has all of the group's characteristic dance-floor viability and subtle hooks buried amid the abrasive shrieks and electric offense of the single's harsher components. In a year of great songs for the experimental outfit, this one may very well come in as their best.

Rodrigo y Gabriela- "Battery"
Mexican classical guitar duo Rodrigo y Gabriela have covered Metallica before — their rendition of "Orion," a staple of their live set, is a thing of beauty. Even so, their masterful, Flamenco-inflected take on a song as blistering and brutal as "Battery" is still a revelation. Listen with open ears and an open mind and prepare to be wowed by this twosome's impossible picking and strumming, which unveil new depth and subtlety in the Metallica classic.

Cattle Decapitation - "Death Atlas"
Pro-animal/anti-human grindcore activists Cattle Decapitation — much like the creatures for whom they advocate — are beasts of evolution, and their latest aural tome "Death Atlas" is a riveting, at time confusing, piece of art that combines grueling death-growls, scorching blackened riffs and a heart-wrenching chorus of clean-sung passages. Somehow it all works, as the beauty slipped between the cacophonous cracks ties the whole multidimensional piece together.

Bloodlet - "Viper in Hand"
Disjointed riffs and fragmented bashing give way to pure vile throat-shredding in the first minute or so of Bloodlet's vicious new "Viper in Hand." The seasoned metallic hardcore veterans claim to have been attempting to summon a demon with the song's lyrics, and judging by the wonderfully nauseating final product? They overshot their goals and brought the whole of hell to Earth.
