Linkin Park - "Fighting Myself"
Chester Bennington's voice lives on in the latest unearthed Linkin Park rarity. "Fighting Myself" is another masterful example of the Linkin Park formula, and the lyrics detailing inner struggle hit even deeper following Bennington's death. The Meteora-era song will magically transport longtime fans back to childhood, but beware of feeling the visceral sting in the here and now when Bennington belts, "Fighting myself/I always lose."
In This Moment - "I Would Die for You"
From the soundtrack of John Wick: Chapter 4 comes a cinematic new track from In This Moment. Frontwoman Maria Brink and guitarist Chris Howorth teamed up with Guardians of the Galaxy and Halloween film scorer Tyler Bates for "I Would Die for You," which delivers an electronically-driven and anthemic piece of modern rock. Give it a spin — "I Would Die for You" kicks almost as much ass as Keanu Reeves.
Creeping Death - "Intestinal Wrap"
Filthy ... just filthy. The boys from Creeping Death can't stop delivering brutal death metal in the vein of some of the genre's finest acts, but where "Intestinal Wrap" really delivers is its music video. Imagine Cannibal Corpse meets King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table. Creeping Death go medieval on our asses during this clip, delving into the brutality of swords, armor and blood on the battlefield, all while a mysterious "Dark King" rubs his nipples from the safety of his castle. Seriously, that's what happens — but spoiler alert: It doesn't end well for him.
Spirit Adrift - "Death Won't Stop Me"
And death shouldn't stop you from checking out this new Spirit Adrift ripper. If you're looking to hop on your motorcycle and rule the highway while some righteous jams set the scene, then you'll dig "Death Won't Stop Me." The fresh track is a chug-heavy and groovy piece of soulful trad metal, filled with fantasy-laden lyrics like, "There is an ancient calling that I must obey" and, "When the stars have fallen/I will still remain." Metal.
Calligram - "Ex-Sistere"
Black-metal act Calligram offer a "viewer discretion advised" warning at the start of their video for "Ex-Sistere," probably because it's 100 percent guaranteed to give you an existential crisis. The entire history of Earth flashes in front of the viewer's face over the course of five minutes, melding biology, physics, chemistry and geology together with all of man's achievements and failures. The overwhelming series of images fits snugly into the celestial black-metal track, so enjoy comprehending your place in the universe while blast beats and howling vocals bounce off your eardrums.
Never Ending Game - "Never Die"
Never Ending Game blend heart and heaviness in a way no other hardcore band currently is. With the stone-cold exterior of a brutalist beatdown and lyrics that reveal the pained, emotional center of a lyricist with poetic talent, the Detroit crew are unmatched in the modern landscape, and "Never Die" is a testament to their staying power. Inviting Trapped Under Ice frontman Justice Tripp and guitarist Sam Trapkin into the fold, this preview from their sophomore album, Outcry, will make you a believer in just two minutes of clobbering time.
