This week, four U.K. bands — Architects, Memoriam, Pupil Slicer and DVNE — offered up contrasting visions of heaviness. Straight outta Brazil, thrash brigade Nervosa threw back to the days of bullet belts and denim. From the U.S., metalcore veterans August Burns Red surprised with a ferocious stand-alone single, while Mike Patton and his cohorts in Tomahawk reared their ugly heads again with the weirdo-rock outfit's first new cut in seven years.
