Atlanta's Abuse of Power made some serious waves with their last 7-inch, When Then Becomes Now, as well as the All I Need / This Isn't Goodbye cassette from right around the same time in early 2017. The reason why was clear — Abuse of Power is wholly unique within the current scene. Their grooving approach to Nineties hardcore recalls greats like Turning Point to early Integrity to 108 — freshened up for the new millennium.
The band's latest offering is the new single, "What on Earth Can We Do," which Revolver is premiering today (May 24th), and is culled from the forthcoming debut LP for Triple B Records. The single is "a statement of self awareness, socially and politically," says frontman Kaleb Perdue. "It's an understanding and refusal of the limits put on the individual mind."
It's also a slapper of the finest order, recalling post-hardcore and that Nineties groove that distinguishes so many of their releases.
