Circa Survive's 2005 debut, Juturna, immediately found an audience in fans who clung to the band's intimate, tuneful and viscerally emotional brand of proggy post-hardcore. Since then, the group fronted by Anthony Green (also of Saosin and L.S. Dunes) have racked up a total of seven albums, including 2022's Two Dreams. That's a lot of material for a newcomer to work through, so where the hell should someone start if they've never heard a single Circa Survive song before?

For them, Revolver is here to help with our "Point of Entry" series, in which we ask artists to pick the single standout cut from across their entire catalog that they believe is the best place for virgin listeners to begin their journey. Below, Green does the honors.

"Electric Moose"

There's a song called "Electric Moose" that we recorded on our last record, and it's just one of my favorite songs ever. I don't know if it encompasses all the musical directions of the whole band, but I know that it's one of my favorite songs that we ever wrote together, and I just love it so much. And I look to it as the quintessential Circa Survive song, even though it might not sound anything like the other songs or the other records.
