Avenged Sevenfold have never been shy about their love of Pantera. For years, the O.C. metal band have repeatedly hailed the Cowboys From Hell as one of their most formative influences, especially when it came to A7X's own take on trudging groove metal, 2013's Hail to the King. Although frontman M. Shadows would surely sing the praises of the Texas group's entire catalog, he and his bandmates have a particular affinity for Pantera's 1992 masterpiece, Vulgar Display of Power, having covered standouts like "Walk" and "Mouth For War" at various points throughout their career.

However, when it came to choosing an all-time favorite song off of one of metal's most untouchable albums, Shadows dug beyond the LP's most ferocious cuts and picked its emotionally devastating closer, "Hollow."

"I'm going to go with 'Hollow,'" Shadows said without missing a beat. "Just because it was such a way to end a record. It's so simple. The lyrics make you cry every time. It's just incredible. It's an incredible way to end a record, I think."

No arguing with that! Play it loud and proud below.
