As much as they hail heavy-metal kings like Metallica, Pantera, Iron Maiden, Dream Theater and more, Avenged Sevenfold have always also loved punk rock. Misfits, NOFX, Pennywise, Bad Religion (whose former drummer, Brooks Wackerman, is now a member of A7X) and others rank high on their list of influences.

Today (December 29th), A7X frontman M. Shadows shouted out a much lesser-known punk fave, Costa Mesa, California, cult heroes Donuts N' Glory. Formed in 1994, they released only one album, '96's When Pregnasaurs Ruled the Earth, played a bunch of shows — including with Blink, the band that would become blink-182 — then called it a day. Says Shadows, they were "the greatest punk band that never made it."

"If you enjoy ⁦punk rock at any level then check out this hidden gem," he noted, sharing a full-album YouTube stream of Pregnasaurs. See his full post and listen to the record below.
