Babymetal Unleash New Pop-Thrash Song "Elevator Girl," Announce U.S. Tour

Kawaii-metal leaders drop latest single off forthcoming third album

Babymetal are gearing up for the release of their highly anticipated third album later this year — it'll be the Japanese viral sensations' first since their rather mysterious split with longtime member Yuimetal, who left in October 2018 — and today, they unleashed their latest single, "Elevator Girl." Characteristically bouncy and fun, the cut surrounds its infectious vocal hook — "da, da, da, da, da, down?" — with blistering speed-metal riffs and solos. Babymetal have previously played the song live, as you can see in the video below.

The Kawaii-metal leaders have some big international concerts ahead of them, including a stint at London's O2 Academy Brixton on July 2nd, where they'll be joined by special guests Amaranthe and Sleep Token. Then in September, the group will kick off its latest U.S. tour, including a stop at Aftershock festival in Sacramento — see the dates below.
