Here at Revolver, we're always on the hunt for new songs to bang our heads to — indeed, it's a big part of our jobs. With that in mind, here are the tracks released this week in metal, hardcore, industrial and more that have been on heavy rotation at Revolver HQ. For your listening pleasure, we've also compiled the songs in an ever-evolving Spotify playlist.
This week, System of a Down shocked the world with their first new songs in 15 years — of course, we prefer the one with the blast beats. Metal supergroup Killed Be Killed showcased their range with a melodic yet crushing "journey of reckless abandon." Former Kvelertak frontman Erlend Hjelvik teamed with High on Fire's Matt Pike for a triumphant new Viking-metal anthem. Meanwhile, two less-proven acts, Russia's Wowod and the U.K.'s DVNE, proved their mettle via ambitious, long-form psychedelic excursions. Blast the best new songs right now below.
