Iron Maiden have been tearing up stages across the U.S. since kicking off the latest leg of their Legacy of the Beast tour in mid-July, thrilling fans with their epic songs and even more epic stage production. But Maiden's connection to their diehards extend way beyond mere entertainment. A recent incident in a Tacoma, Washington, concert showed just how deeply Bruce Dickinson and the gang care about the fans who show up every night to watch their action-packed performances.

Stopping the show for a two-minute rant, the British singer addressed the crowd to shed light on a violent altercation he reportedly witnessed between "an Iron Maiden fan" who, according to Dickinson, "had the shit kicked out of him by 10 security guards." The band and their crew apparently brought the show-goer backstage for treatment after the alleged beatdown led to bleeding head wounds.

"This is not the fucking mixed martial arts," Dickinson voiced angrily into the microphone. "We've played to several hundred thousand people so far on this tour. This is the first time anything like this has happened." In fan-shot video, the crowd can be heard booing while the speech continued. "I don't know if this happens in this building all the time, I don't know if this is an act of fucking madness ... I hope that kid takes this building to the fucking cleaners."

Dickinson wrapped up by telling the crowd that if they have any footage of the incident, the band would be pleased to use it in any way to help the victim get a proper settlement. See video of Dickinson's rant below.
