In 2008, Bush's Gavin Rossdale released his one and only solo album, WANDERlust, and as it turns out, he doesn't think it was such a good idea in hindsight. The vocalist-guitarist recently joined Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1 to discuss his band's new LP, The Art of Survival, evolving his craft, touring with Alice in Chains, working with Nirvana producer Steve Albini, and much more. Among the many topics covered, Rossdale also expressed the opinion that singers in rock bands shouldn't go solo.

"It's a terrible idea for singers in rock bands to do solo records," Rossdale asserted. "Nobody wants that. Nobody wants that. It's just a dead end, cul-de-sac, dead end. Not even a cul-de-sac, that sounds fancy. It's a dead end. So I had to come around, get out of that. I just love being in a band, and I'm just lucky enough that the band I have now in the same way with Chris, with Corey, they just elevate what I do."
