The bizarre case of Cannibal Corpse guitarist Pat O'Brien has dominated metal news headlines, and the story is far from over. The death-metal musician's bail has been set at $50k by a Florida judge and the musician reportedly lost everything in the fire that consumed his home, so to help him get back on his feet, Deana Mazurkiewicz — the wife of his Cannibal Corpse drummer Paul Mazurkiewicz — has set up a crowdfunding effort on mightycause.com.

She wrote in the campaign's statement, "Pat is a standup guy, true to his friends, family and his band. Also Pat does not have insurance, and lost everything that he owns. These funds will help him get back on his feet with the regular much-needed necessities like clothing, a roof over his head, and other daily life necessities that are needed."

After citing O'Brien's approachability and relationship with his fans, Deana asks that no one "jump to conclusions until the full details of what occurred come out, and that you show Pat nothing but love and support and let him know that you're there for him." Witnesses and neighbors have commented to local news stations that the guitarist appeared like a normal resident before the incident, keeping in line with Deana's comments. Fans and supporters can donate at this location. Cannibal Corpse or any of the band members have yet to publicly comment on the situation, and there's still no word on how this will affect the group's upcoming plans to support Slayer on the fifth leg of the thrash OGs' farewell tour.
