Earlier in the week, we wrote about Cannibal Corpse guitarist Pat O'Brien's release from jail after posting a $50,000 bond, following a truly bizarre saga that included a house fire, a break-in on his neighbor's property, and the assault of a police officer. Today, newly released court documents only make the situation look stranger.

This most recent scoop comes from the Tampa Bay Times, who reported that firefighters found a humongous stash of weapons in locked safes after the blaze that claimed O'Brien's house. That inventory included 50 shotguns (including at least one with an illegal sawed-off barrel,) 10 semi-automatic rifles (including AK-47 variants), two Uzi-style rifles, and 20 handguns.

The Tampa Bay Times also reports that thousands of rounds of ammunition "stored in boxes, military-style metal cans and even ammunition belts — several other weapons and weapons' parts and three skulls."

That is a lot of firepower, but all of the weapons, (save for the sawed-off shotgun,) are legal to own if O'Brien has the proper paperwork. (The Tampa Bay Times was unable to confirm if that was the case.) Neither O'Brien nor Cannibal Corpse have made a statement on this incident yet. We'll keep you posted as we continue to learn more.
