It's hard to imagine that after nine albums (their 10th, Vaxis – Act II: A Window of the Waking Mind, is due out May 27th), myriad massive prog-rock anthems and even more stellar deep cuts, there are still people on Planet Earth who have yet to hear Coheed and Cambria — but rest assured, they are out there.

For them, Revolver is here to help with our "Point of Entry" series, in which we ask artists to pick the one standout cut from across their entire catalog that they believe is the best place for virgin listeners to begin their journey. Below, Coheed frontman Claudio Sanchez does the honors. It's a tough choice.

"Evagria the Faithful"

Oh, man, it's so tough, because sometimes I create songs like "Favor House Atlantic" or "Shoulders" or things like that just as a bait-and-switch, you know? [Laughs] Kind of get 'em in and then really show 'em what the band is about. I could easily say "Welcome Home," and most people think of the band as that. I guess I [should] say "Welcome Home," just because it's probably our most popular. So maybe just go with the tried and true, but I also feel like "Shoulders" is a pretty good one. I mean, it's so tough — there's so many colors to the band.

You know what? I'm gonna go with "Evagria the Faithful," because it's the only song we have like it! Maybe it'll bring in some new listeners. [Laughs] It shows a side of the band that's like, "Wow, we did that!" and it's one of those "you don't expect it" kind of moments. I mean, if you listen to "Favor House Atlantic," you're not gonna get the idea that the band's gonna do a song like "Evagria the Faithful." So maybe just because it's odd, I'll go with that.
