Converge Release Surreal New "Melancholia" Video, Surprise EP 'Beautiful Ruin'

Blistering four-song release available now via Epitaph

Well, this is a nice surprise: Converge have just dropped Beautiful Ruin, an EP containing four all-new pummeling tracks, as well as a disturbing visual for standout cut "Melancholia." Available via all the major digital outlets, the EP has also been pressed to 7-inch, which is up for purchase in two varieties on the Deathwish webstore. The offering is the hardcore titans first release since last November's excellent album The Dusk in Us. The band teased its arrival by posting the awesome cover art — which you can see in full below — on its Instagram account in sections.

Beautiful Ruin arrives ahead of Converge's upcoming North American tour with Neurosis and Amenra, which kicks off in early July; find a full list of dates here. Earlier this year, the Boston band's drummer Ben Koller sat behind the kit for Only Love, the Armed's stellar record — one of the best albums of the year so far — produced by his Converge bandmate Kurt Ballou.
