Bringing his measured and iconic taste to this side of the pond, Robert Smith and his band the Cure will both headline and curate the Pasadena Daydream Festival, a one day event in the heart of SoCal on August 31st. The impeccable lineup will include indie rock legends The Pixies, Welsh alternative act the Joy Formidable and Nineties rockers Throwing Muses, alongside Revolver favorites like DeftonesChelsea Wolfe, and Emma Ruth Rundle. Repeating some picks from his curation of last year's Meltdown festival, held at London's Southbank Centre, Smith also added Icelandic post-punks Kaelan Mikla and a duo of Scottish acts with Mogwai and The Twilight Sad to the roster.

Recent Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee Smith recalls of another hit-filled 40th anniversary show they played at London's Hyde Park last year: "Hyde Park was a fabulous experience. The whole day was really magical, and we wanted to create something with a similar celebratory vibe for this summer." The band currently have their first album in 10 years in the works.

The event, which takes place on August 31st, will be held at the Rose Bowl in Brookside. Tickets go on sale this Friday, May 17th at $149 for general admittance and $299 for VIP at this location
