Glenn Danzig has never shied away from expressing his love for Elvis Presley, something he reiterated when Revolver interviewed the singer earlier this year:

"The reason that I ended up becoming a singer is, I was playing hooky, cutting school and I watched old movies," he said. "And I'm watching Jailhouse Rock and was like, 'This is what I want to do. This is cool.'"

For years, Danzig — who himself has been dubbed Evil Elvis — has been talking about releasing a covers record in tribute to the King. Today, April 18th, Danzig's official Facebook page confirmed that said record — dubbed Danzig Sings Elvis — will finally be released this fall.

"The long awaited 'DANZIG Sings ELVIS' covers record has now been scheduled for a Fall release," states the post. "We will post the cover & tracks in the coming weeks."

The Facebook post also revealed that Danzig is putting the finishing touches on a script for a new feature film, which he will direct and is described as a "vampire spaghetti-western."

The as-yet-untitled new project will be the second feature directed by Danzig. He recently helmed the live-action film Verotika, which is based on the output of his long-running adult-themed comic-book publishing company Verotik, founded in 1994. Verotika will be released via Cleopatra Entertainment.

In an interview with Revolver last year, Danzig shed some light on the Verotika movie. "I'm finally getting to direct my own movie and no one's going to tell me how to do it. It's one of the reasons I'm doing it with [CEO] Brian Perera and Cleopatra Records," he explains. "He's like, 'I want you to have your vision.' Who's going to tell you that? I've had so many meetings with places that are just going to step all over my movie and then people are going to judge me and it's not even my movie. So I'm pretty happy."

The musician went on to promise the movie would stay true to his established aesthetic and will include "a lot of the stuff I love ... shadowy stuff, gore and all of it. ... I'm not doing anything other than an R movie. I like boobs and blood."
