David Silveria: I Have Apologized to Korn

"I have the upmost respect for the guys and an appreciation for every one of those guys. The end."

David Silveria's tenure in Korn lasted from the Californian band's inception in 1993 all the way through 2006, when he left amid rumors that the relationship between him and his bandmates had gone sour. Despite the past tension and mud-slinging over the years, Silveria has seemed to soften his views on the group and their time together, even reminiscing back in January about recording 1998's nu-metal classic Follow the Leader: "We basically had parties every night after we would be in the studio," he told DJ RadioactiveMike Z. "And there was a fenced-in backyard, and everyone would be drinking beer and we'd tell everyone to throw their beer cans off the balcony in the backyard."

Continuing in this more light-hearted vein, Silveria recently posted to Instagram an absurdly Photoshopped Blabbermouth headline claiming Korn fans were demanding his return to the band. Despite the obvious jest in his post, one follower pointed out that the drummer "disrespected [Korn] publicly" and "threatened them," to which Silveria had the lengthy response below:

"Normally wouldn't even answer this. But to say. I have apologized to all members of Korn. I was immature, hurt and mad that after head they wouldn't let me back in. Specifically because the year before head came back I personally talked to head and tried to get him to along with me talk to the guys about both of us going back to Korn.

"At that time head said 'David, you and I are good friends. But don't call me if you are only going to try to get me to go back to Korn. I will never go back.' Then less than a year later he goes back to Korn. On our phone call he said very negative things about Korn which I won't repeat.

"The things I said were wrong and mean. I haven't said anything negative about Korn in years now. I have the upmost respect for the guys and an appreciation for every one of those guys. The end."

In a subsequent comment, Silveria pointed out that the post is "obviously a joke," as witnessed by the poor Photoshop and sarcastic language of the fake headline. See below to check out the full post and scroll through the comments to find the above exchange.
