Last month, we named nardcore torchbearers Dead Heat one of our Artists You Need to Know on the strength of their kickass sophomore album, World at War. With loads of gnarly riffs, beastly mosh parts and fiery energy to go around, the record is one of the best crossover hardcore albums in recent memory, and today (July 27th), we're thrilled to premiere the flame-filled video for its crushing title-track.
The visual sees the Oxnard, California, quintet venture into a dark venue space and bust through the song in between footage of soldiers on the battlefield. The explosive violence ties in with the track's anti-war subject matter, but the band's exhilarating performance and energetic stage moves — not to mention the great bursts of fire shooting off on either side of the stage — are its most alluring qualities.

"'World At War' is about the leaders that be and how they essentially control our fate," Dead Heat say. "It seems almost at any given moment a war can start, and the ones who will be put on the frontlines are us, the masses."
"'Our fate lies in the hands of the insane,'" they add, quoting a lyric from the song. "We too often see politicians and people of power choosing unequivocally wrong decisions that impact our world, and one day it's gonna catch up to us to the point where nothing can be undone."
