Deafheaven's George Clarke is used to his band getting a strong reaction — since the release of their second album Sunbather, the so-called "blackgaze" band has been met with equal parts superlative praise from critical outlets and "fuck these posers" hate from the self-appointed guardians of "trve," "kvlt" metal. Even so, Clarke never could have imagined the reaction that the group's 2010 song "Violet" would get from audience members when played live — people like to make out to it.

"People make out a lot to that song," the vocalist reported to Spin. "It's usually one couple, but they'll be right in front of us. It's happened too many times for me to be like, 'It's just a drunk couple.' I don't know how it happens, but I've got no complaints."

Do we see a new subgenre rising up perhaps? Make-out black metal? Surely corpse-paint purists would approve. In the spirit of trolling the haters and elitists, we asked Clarke for his "Black-Metal Make-Out Playlist," and he offered up the following cuts.

1. Cradle of Filth, "A Gothic Romance (Red Roses for the Devil's Whore)"

2. Primordial, "The Darkest Flame"

3. Nyktalgia, "Misere Nobis"

4. Lunar Aurora, "Sterna"

5. Coldworld, "Dream of a Dead Sun"

6. Xasthur, "Screaming at Forgotten Fears"

7. Forgotten Tomb, "Love Me Like You'd Love the Death"

8. Alcest, "Le Voyages De L'Âme"

9. Amesoeurs, "Bonheur Amputé"

10. Darkthrone, "Natassja In Eternal Sleep"

11. Leviathan, "Adored (Stone Roses cover)"

12. Cradle of Filth, "Malice Through the Looking Glass"
