Def Leppard drummer Rick Allen was violently assaulted in Florida this past Saturday March 11th. According to an arrest report obtained by TMZ, the glam-metal musician — who's famously maintained a career as a world-renowned percussionist despite losing an arm in 1984 — was smoking a cigarette outside of his hotel in Fort Lauderdale Beach when a teenage suspect ran up and knocked him over, causing his head to bash into the ground.

As TMZ reports, a woman inside of the Four Seasons Hotel ran out to try and assist the wounded Allen, when the assailant struck her to the ground as well. According to the police report, the woman attempted to scramble back inside when the attacker grabbed her by the hair and dragged her back outside the building. Eventually, the suspect was arrested in a parking garage and later charged with elder abuse, battery and criminal mischief.

So far, neither Def Leppard or Allen himself have commented on the incident or provided an update on the drummer's condition. However, the band's March 12th show at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino went on as planned, so Allen is ostensibly in good enough shape to carry on his musical duties.
