Hear Econoline Crush's First New Single in Over 10 Years "Get Out of the Way"

It's been 12 long years since Canadian industrial-rock outfit Econoline Crush — known for the radio hits "All That You Are," "You Don't Know What It's Like," "Make It Right" and "Dirty — dropped their last album, Ignite. Now, they're gearing up to finally release a follow-up LP, via indie start-up Amalien Records, and their comeback single is a new, re-recorded version of 2008's "Get Out of the Way," which Revolver is premiering right here right now, along with its lyric video. "We felt this song was the perfect track to kick open the doors and announce to the world that the band is back," Econoline Crush singer Trevor Hurst tells us. "Unfortunately, as we began work on this recording, the COVID pandemic started. The song took on a life of its own as we saw it as a battle cry for frontline workers: Get us the equipment and gear we need and 'Get Out of the Way' and we'll take care of business."

In addition to the new single and forthcoming album, Hurst is also prepping a documentary, Flatlander, slated for release in 2021. The film sheds light on what the singer has been up to outside of music and during Econoline Crush's hiatus. Having toured with Alice Cooper and opened for KISS at NYC's Madison Square Garden, among other career highlights, Hurst is now a registered psychiatric nurse. The doc looks at how he reconciles the pursuit of rock stardom with his desire to connect with people and make a difference.

"I realized what a great gift was bestowed upon us as a band and as individuals, to have this ability to make music and to entertain," Hurst has said. "I don't take this for granted. That's why everybody in the band feels this is not an opportunity to waste."
