Motörhead occupy rarefied air in the heavy-music world. Led by the inimitable Lemmy Kilmister, they emerged out of London's early Seventies heavy-psych, space-rock scene (epitomized by Lem's acid-drenched previous band Hawkwind) and quickly secured their mythical reputation as speed-fueled, road-worn rock & roll icons thanks to their tireless touring and god-tier songs like "Ace of Spades," "Overkill" and more.

Motörhead left the world with so much great music that continue to inspire generations of heavy-music fans — including Sammy Urwin of U.K. shapeshifting metalcore crew Employed to Serve. Below, the guitarist sounds off on his favorite Motörhead song.

"Cradle to the Grave"

It's so hard to pick just one song by Motörhead to be my favorite, but I managed to settle on "Cradle to the Grave." It has all the key components for a Motörhead track. It's loud, makes you feel good and acts as an anthem for those striving to do things their way in this weird world we live in.

I was lucky enough to see Motörhead a handful of times and they're very fond memories for me. My dad took me to see them when I was kid, and they were not only some of the loudest shows I've ever been to, but also the most high energy and exhilarating — what a band!
