Dead Cross is a heavy fucking band. The supergroup comprised of Justin Pearson (Retox, ex-the Locust), Mike Patton (Faith No More, etc.), Dave Lombardo (ex-Slayer) and Mike Crain (Retox) has been blasting out a particularly unrelenting kind of hardcore punk for the past several years. Today, they've released a new video for "Shillelagh (Panicker Remix)" off of their recently released self-titled EP. Panicker is a solo EBM artist out of Portland, Oregon, who puts burly industrial spin on the blistering fast original. He slows down the tempo a clip, taking it to a gross and mechanized pace that makes the result hard to connect to the original tune, outside of Patton's vocals and Pearson's guitar work. The video is appropriately bleak, too, featuring children's storybook illustrations superimposed over scenes of civil unrest and violence. In short, this crushes.
