Evanescence may be in quarantine like the rest of us, but they're not about to sit there quietly. To the contrary, the band just announced their long-awaited new album, The Bitter Truth, the follow-up to 2017's Synthesis, which was a collection of reimagined versions of the group's signature songs recorded with a full orchestra and additional electronic effects. Even better, fans won't have to wait long to hear new music: Evanescence revealed that they will premiere the LP's lead single "Wasted on You" next Friday, April 24th — you can pre-save it here. See the cover art for The Bitter Truth below. While no release date for the LP has been announced as yet, the group's social posts do back up their promise to drop it in 2020.

Evanescence were set to hit the road in Europe this spring on a co-headlining run with Within Temptation, under the banner "Worlds Collide," but the tour was postponed due to the spread of COVID-19. Stuck at home, singer and bandleader Amy Lee broadcasted an intimate solo performance via Instagram Live in March, promoting social distancing and raise awareness for World Health Organization and Global Citizen during #togetherathome. She also recently appeared on Body Count's "When I'm Gone," off the Ice-T-led rap-metal crew's latest album, Carnivore.
