EYE AM: Hear CROWBAR, DOWN, TYPE O supergroup's sludgy first song

Kirk Windstein, Todd Strange, Kenny Hickey and Johnny Kelly dole out another crusher

Earlier this year, a new supergroup called EYE AM revealed their existence, and fans of low-and-slow metal took note. Featuring Kirk Windstein and Todd Strange, of NOLA greats Crowbar and Down, and Kenny Hickey and Johnny Kelly, of Brooklyn's mighty Type O Negative, the band were already on our radar before they released a single note of music, and today (June 2nd) we're proud be premiering their first-ever song.

Titled "Dreams Always Die With the Sun," the track is a sludgy, doomy metal dirge that sounds a little bit like every awesome band these guys have played in. Listen while you watch its Mike Holderbeast-directed video above via YouTube.

"For me, I just love jamming and writing songs with talented people," Windstein commented. "Of course, I've jammed with Todd Strange since the Eighties, so I knew that would be great, but having the opportunity to get together with Kenny and Johnny was exciting! I was a little nervous at first, but once we started putting the song together, I had a great feeling we were on to something special! I love the song and can't wait to write some more with these guys!"

As of now, this is EYE AM's only piece of music, but they're slated to record their debut album right in New Orleans at the end of June. We're stoked and you should be too.
