UPDATE, 11/27/19: Faith No More have added another European festival to their 2020 itinerary, Mad Cool Festival on July 11th in Madrid, Spain.

ORIGINAL STORY: After posting a cryptic tease ("psssst...") to their social media accounts and launching a mysterious countdown clock on their official site, Faith No More have revealed the big news: The alt-metal trailblazers will reassemble in 2020 to play a string of shows in the summer, namely, Sunstroke Festival in Punchestown, Ireland, on June 13th; Hellfest in Clisson, France, on June 20th; and Tons of Rock in Oslo, Norway on June 26th. More European festivals will be announced soon.

"Five years, four colonoscopies, two root canals and a handful of prostate exams tell us that it's time to carpe diem our asses back to Europe ASAP," the band commented in a joint statement.

The shows will be the group's first since their August 2016 headlining performance at The Troubadour in West Hollywood, California, and their first in Europe since June of 2015. Over the last few years, the band has been on "an extended hiatus," as FNM frontman Mike Patton put it, appearing on Full Metal Jackie's nationally syndicated radio show in 2017. At that time, the singer remained open to ending the hiatus and restarting activities with Faith No More, who reunited in 2009 following a decade-long break and released a new album, Sol Invictus, their first in 18 years, in 2015. "It's one of those things. It's kind of like going to a family reunion," he explained, "and you get along with your uncle, and then you're, like, 'Oh, we're gonna go to the next barbecue.' 'OK, fine.' I mean, that's really the way it is with us."
