For Fans of Deftones: See Sugar Horse's Stunning Video for Triumphant New Song

"Pictures of Dogs Having Sex" combines elements of shoegazey alt-metal and crushing post-metal

Sugar Horse are a U.K. band who blend elements of post-metal, alt-metal and shoegaze into one gigantic typhoon of sound. After dropping their debut LP last year, the group returned the other day with a new single that's befuddingly titled "Pictures of Dogs Having Sex." The name is quite a disturbing eye-catcher, but the music itself is utterly divine, as well as its accompanying music video that we're stoked to be premiering today (June 13th).

Channeling bands like Deftones, Hum and even Cult of Luna, the song's sound is utterly titanic, with huge swells of gleaming shoegaze rising up like ocean mist and then forming stormy post-metal swells that crash like thunder above choppy waters. It's intense stuff, and the band's video pairs their sonics with bizarrely edited and psychedelicly filtered footage of dancers performing beautiful routines.
