For Fans of Dinosaur Jr., L7: Hear theWorst's Snarling New Song "Hurt Forever"

Fuzz-rock banger features shredding from Distillers guitarist Tony Bevilacqua

So much of the talk about grungy, fuzzy indie-punk is obsessed with nostalgia for the Nineties, but there're still so many awesome bands making that type of music today that listeners should take interest in. One of those bands is theWorst, a Portland, Maine, trio who pull from the snarling side of grunge, the all-enveloping loudness of fuzz-rock and the roughshod catchiness of emo on their stellar new song, "Hurt Forever," which we're premiering today (May 5th).

The track is the latest preview from their forthcoming sophomore album, Yes Regrets (due out June 3rd), and it even features Distillers guitarist Tony Bevilacqua adding some extra six-string heft. Musically, it brings to mind everyone from late 20th century powerhouses like  L7 and Dinosaur Jr. to modern contemporaries like Bully and Hop Along, and its video pays homage to grainy grunge aesthetics without falling victim to pure regurgitation.

It's a banger from front to back, and you can watch and listen above via YouTube.
