For Fans of Slipknot: See Kissing Candice's Brutal "Hallowed Ground" Video

Nu-metalcore band show off fresh masks in freaky visual for heavy new song

For the last several years, Kissing Candice have been honing a breed of nu-metalcore that's heavy, groovy and visually terrifying. The New York-based group don high-quality masks in that bring to mind the tattered, confrontational look of Slipknot's early visages, and their sound combines the aggression of the Iowa maniacs' early years with the chuggy, down-tuned metalcore stylings of the present. The whole vibe of the band is captured in the video for their new song "Hallowed Ground," which we're stoked to be premiering today (January 27th). In it, the band rip through the track in a dark basement while showing off their freaky masks and headbanging like lunatics. Check it out above via YouTube.

"The song 'Hallowed Ground' is basically a rejection of the holier-than-thou attitude when it comes to one's beliefs," says Kissing Candice guitarist Tom Sciro. "'Hallowed Ground' is a play on the fact that all ground is sacred and hypocrites are plentiful in the highest places. Unfortunately, those who are the first to judge are often the one's in the wrong."

"Hallowed Ground" is the latest single from the band's upcoming full-length, Manifest, which is out later this year. Stay up to date with all things Kissing Candice on their website
