King Buffalo are from Rochester, NY, the city where Mastodon's Brann Dailor and Bill Kelliher originate from. Apparently there's something in the water there, because King Buffalo also specialize in a tantalizing breed of heavy psych-rock, and their new album, The Burden of Restlessness, which we're proud to be premiering below, will definitely appeal to fans of that world.

After a particularly fruitful quarantine, King Buffalo are planning to unveil three new albums by the end of this year, and The Burden of Restlessness is the first in that series. Similar to bands like Elder, Earthless and even Pallbearer, King Buffalo's sound leans on the more melodic side of stoner-metal, but with a fuzzy heft that almost always comes pouring in by the end of each song. Their licks are tight, punctuated and rhythmically-focused, but when they decide to get loud, shit gets thick and heavy in the best way possible.

The Burden of Restlessness is officially out Friday June 4th, and you can snag physical copies here. Stream it in full below and peep their fall tour dates with Clutch and Stoner.
