FOO FIGHTERS' first show since TAYLOR HAWKINS death: See setlist and videos

New songs, old favs, Black Sabbath nods during visibly emotional New Hampshire performance

It happened. Last night (May 24th), the Foo Fighters played their first live show since the tragic death of drummer Taylor Hawkins, who passed unexpectedly back in March 2022.

Therefore, their headlining set at the Bank of New Hampshire Pavilion in Gilford, New Hampshire, was also their first with new touring drummer Josh Freese, who the band revealed during a livestream performance over the weekend.

Dave Grohl and Co.'s visibly emotional performance featured a stacked setlist that mostly leaned on fan-favorites — "Everlong," "My Hero," "The Pretender, "Learn to Fly," etc.

However, they also included the debut of three new songs from the Foos' forthcoming album, But Here We Are. Previously-released singles "Rescued" and "Under You" were played, as well as the still-unreleased title-track and "Nothing At All."

Several of the tracks were re-imagined for the live setting by beginning with just Grohl and slowly adding in the full band, while Grohl performed "Cold Day in the Sun" solo and acoustic, wiping away tears as he dedicated the Hawkins-penned track to his late bandmate.

Elsewhere, Grohl's 17-year-old daughter Violet came out to join the band for "Shame Shame," and in the middle of the raucous "No Son of Mine," the band suddenly broke into the main section of Black Sabbath's "Paranoid," which was a cool touch.

It was a momentous, 21-song affair, and you can watch fan-recorded video from throughout the set above and below via YouTube. Also, check out the full setlist courtesy of Setlist.fm.
