Former Black Sabbath drummer Bill Ward has cancelled seven upcoming concerts with his current band, Day of Errors, after being hospitalized for heart problems this past weekend. The percussionist, who is expected to make a full recovery, broke the news in a Facebook post published late yesterday (November 20th). The affected dates, previously scheduled for early December, include stop-offs in Eugene, Oregon, Portland, Seattle, San Francisco and San Diego, among other cities. They will not be rescheduled; all tickets will be refunded at point of purchase.
"I wound up in hospital this past weekend with heart problems," Ward wrote. "I am OK and in good recovery at this time. However, I've never experienced this particular type of heart problem before, and due to its nature, I had to make the decision to cancel the dates. I want to send my sincere apologies to everyone who was planning to come out to the shows. I'm so sorry we won't be making it — I was looking forward to seeing you all and sharing this music with you. I'll be in touch soon," he concluded.
Ward, who parted ways with Black Sabbath in 2012, formed Day of Errors last year. The hard-rock outfit's current lineup comprises Ward on drums, Joe Amodea on guitar and vocals, and Jason "Dewey" Bragg on lead vocals. In 2015, Ward released a solo album, Accountable Beasts.
