UPDATE: Ghost have commented via Twitter on the death of one of their fans at their show last night (May 31st) in Milwaukee. See the band's statement below.

ORIGINAL STORY: Last night (May 31st) was supposed to be a night of celebration for Ghost: a sold-out gig at Milwaukee's Riverside Theater leading up to the release of the band's highly anticipated new album, Prequelle. But then tragedy struck when a fan collapsed in the audience and, after being transported to Columbia St. Mary's hospital, died of natural causes.

Ghost had reportedly completed Act I of their 'Rats! on the Road' show, and according to the Journal Sentinel, it was during intermission, at around 9:15 p.m., that the concertgoer, whose name has not been released, fell to the ground. Security and paramedics came to his aid after being alerted of the situation by other audience members, and CPR was administered while fans were ushered out of the venue. At around 9:45 p.m., staff began to inform people that the show had been canceled due to a "terrible tragedy," says a report from CBS 58.

Ghost commented on the tragedy via Twitter: "Tonight, in Milwaukee, there was a medical emergency with one of our fans. We decided not to continue out of respect to him and his family. Ghost and all who work with us ask that you please send the family your thoughts, prayers and respect their privacy during this time."
