The nominees have been announced for this year's American Music Awards, and Sweden's unholiest pop-metal troupe Ghost have earned an improbable nod. Specifically, Papa Emeritus IV and the Nameless Ghouls are nominated in the Favorite Rock Album category for this year's Impera. Fan voting for the awards is open now via voteamas.com — if you need an extra inducement to cast your vote, know that Impera is up against mainstream sellout, the chart-topping pop-punk album by the Slipknot-dissing, System of a Down-butchering Machine Gun Kelly.

Winners will be announced on November 20th at the AMAs awards ceremony at The Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles and airing live via ABC. See the full list of Favorite Rock Album nominees below.
