Ghost at a point in their career where they're rubbing shoulders with megastars. Tobias Forge was on the AMAs red carpet last year, for fuck's sake, and today they released a new version of their Impera standout, "Spillways," that features one of the biggest rockstars in the genre — Def Leppard's Joe Elliott. Ghost are thriving, but if Forge was given the opportunity, he'd love to play guitar in the Red Hot Chili Peppers

At least that's what he said in a newly-published interview with Classic Rock, in which he was asked to pick a band who he'd love to play guitar for for just one day. Forge selected a couple rock giants that aren't the least bit metal, but the Chili Peppers comment was particularly surprising. Who knew that the face-painted occult-rocker would kill for a chance to shred some sunny funk-rock?

"I would have loved to be what Mick Taylor was in 1969, coming into the Rolling Stones at their best era," Forge said of the Stones' ex-guitarist. "But I would have stayed around! That would have been a great experience. Very fun music to play. Definitely within the limits of what I can play really well. I spent a lot of time as a kid learning how to play guitar."

"Otherwise I would love to play in the Red Hot Chilli Peppers," he added. "I love what [Chili Peppers guitarist] John Frusciante does."
