Go Behind the Scenes of Machine Head's Upcoming "Catharsis" Music Video

New clip contains straightjackets, Butoh dancers, lots of rose petals

Machine Head recently announced their ninth studio album Catharsis, due out January 26th via Nuclear Blast. After dropping the record's first single, "Beyond the Pale," last month, the band is currently gearing up to premiere the title track's music video later this week.

In anticipation of the imminent "Catharsis" clip, Machine Head shared a behind-the-scenes look at the video shoot, which frontman Robb Flynn aptly describes as "two days of mania." Highlights teased in the six-minute preview include the band's literally insane getup (straightjackets and white face paint); a bevy of writhing men covered in ashes, otherwise known as Butoh dancers; and a "rope forest." To top it all off, Flynn (who's rocking what the makeup artist describes as an "ashy fallout look) gets caught in a rose-petal maelstrom. The hype — and the batshit insanity — is very, very real.
