See New "Uncensored" Cut of Granny 4 Barrel's Insane "Nitro Sexy" Video

Viral clip already had strippers, bluegrass fiddle and a 'Mad Max' death race. Now, it gets bloodshed.

Bands don't get much more outlandish than Granny 4 Barrel, the Victorian steampunk shock-rock outfit fronted by the snarling heavy-metal Granny in the group's name and replete with bluegrass fiddle and Storm Daniels–directed music videos. Having already made headlines for these and other unusual qualities, the group is now gearing up to drop a brand-new single, "The Art of Deception," on November 8th and play a trio of big bicoastal shows — October 23rd at NYC's Bowery Electric, November 5th at Hollywood's Whiskey a Go Go and November 9th in Pomona at The Player Omega Gamer Convention — to fry even more unsuspecting brains with their bizarre, apocalyptic vision. Ahead of all this, they've offered up a new "uncensored," "'There Will Be Blood' Version" of their "Nitro Sexy" music video, a hyperactive Mad Max–themed clip that's already wracked up half a million views in its tamer form. Watch that above, and below, see what Granny has to say about it and her band's imminent activities.

THE "NITRO SEXY" VIDEO LOOKS LIKE IT WAS A LOT OF FUN TO MAKE. WHAT WAS THE HARDEST OR MOST CHALLENGING PART OF THE SHOOT?
GRANNY
It was a blast making the video! Since it was filmed outside there was the ever present concern for bad weather to mess with us. But as fate would have it, the day went off without a hitch — only at the very end of the day did it start to rain. Literally, we were at the last few moments of filming and rain came down ... You can see it on the video in the evening shots ... It actually made for a cool effect!

The other challenge is how do you safely mount Granny and her rocking chair on top of a speeding hot rod?! As you can see in the video, we pulled that off as well! [Laughs]

ANY MISHAPS ON SET?
We did have some pretty strong winds early in the day and hanging the 30-by-20-foot Granny 4 Barrel logo was a challenge. We needed about 20 people to wrangle that!

Back to the rocking chair. So as I mentioned earlier we mounted my rocking chair to the top of this super tricked-out rat rod. The crew was nervous that it might break away as we went speeding down the track. They asked me if I was OK with the risk. I said, "Well, considering that you're asking a guy dressed like and old woman if this is too risky or dangerous, I think you already have your answer. Yes, I'm perfectly content with the adrenaline rush and the insanity of it! Let's go for it!"

FOR THOSE UNFAMILIAR WITH THE "CENSORED" CUT, WHAT'S THE BIGGEST DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THAT ONE AND THIS NEW ONE?
The biggest difference is that, in the uncensored version, you get to see the bloodshed. In the censored version, the powers that be made us lose the "violence" and asked us to tone it down and we reluctantly did some edits. I mean it's way cooler with the violence. I mean, we didn't really kill anyone. [Laughs] C'mon, people, this was pretend — you know, like in the movies! It's a damn music video from a shock-rock band, give us a break! I'm glad we can now see it in it's full glory!

WERE YOU SURPRISED BY THE VIRAL SUCCESS OF THE ORIGINAL VIDEO?
Very much! Lots of great comments and feedback from our fans! It's nice to have our art and our efforts validated!

YOU HAVE A NEW SINGLE "THE ART OF DECEPTION" COMING SOON. WHAT CAN YOU TELL US ABOUT IT?
So glad you asked! Yes, "The Art of Deception" is a beast! Granny co-wrote this with super producer David Bendeth and it's a song asking the question, "Who do you trust?" It touches on abuse of power and deception. Fans will get to see Granny in a much more serious light. G4B is touching on a darker theme and undertone in this song. We're really excited about this track. It gets released November 8th. I think true metal aficionados will love this!

YOU ALSO HAVE TWO SHOWS IN NEW YORK AND L.A. JUST AROUND THE CORNER. WHAT CAN FANS LOOK FORWARD TO AT THOSE?
Ahhh yes! October 23rd in NYC at The Bowery Electric and two shows in November in California, November 5th at The Whiskey in L.A. and November 9th in Pomona at The Player Omega Gamer Convention. Fans can expect a shock-rock punch-in-the-nuts extravaganza! Granny will be blazing some new tracks and pulling out all the stops — unhinged madness will be enjoyed by all!
