Guns N' Roses: Hear New Version of "November Rain" With 50-Piece Orchestra

Mixed by Porcupine Tree frontman Steven Wilson

A lot of people consider "November Rain" to be one of the most epic rock songs ever, a gloriously over-the-top power ballad that captured the peak of hard-rock's commercial domination. Now, Guns N' Roses have somehow made the song even more extravagant.

As part of the upcoming Use Your Illusion box set, this new version of "November Rain" features a 50-piece orchestra that was arranged and conducted by TV and film composer Christopher Lennertz, giving the already-triumphant song an even more grandiose update.

What's more, it the track was mixed by none other than Steven Wilson, frontman of prog-metal vets Porcupine Tree and a renowned boardsmith who's mixed and produced albums by the likes of King Crimson, Opeth, Black Sabbath and more.

"The new 2022 version is the same performance as the original, and mixed faithfully to the established version, but with newly recorded orchestration replacing the sampled sounds used at the time," Wilson wrote on Facebook a couple months back.
