Halestorm singer-guitarist Lzzy Hale and Slipknot/Stone Sour vocalist Corey Taylor have collaborated quite a few times over the years and are clearly fans of each other's work. In 2012 at Download Festival in Donington, U.K., the two joined forces for a spirited acoustic version of the AC/DC classic "You Shook Me All Night Long." Hale and Taylor linked up once again for Stone Sour's 2015 EP, Straight Outta Burbank..., on which the vocalists covered the Rolling Stones' "Gimme Shelter." Below, Hale shares about the first time she met Taylor, and picks her favorite Slipknot song.

"Gehenna"

I first got to hear it when we first met Corey Taylor. He had come over to our practice space to write with us and showed us a rough of one of Slipknot's new songs called "Gehenna." I was blown away! I literally had chills! I was touched by the lyrics. I relate them to my own issues of sometimes feeling like I have a split personality — knowing all too well the good and the bad in me, and sometimes I'm not sure what side to choose. For example: "I can finally be myself 'cause I don't wanna be myself." This song helped me recognize and learn to love both ends of my twisted little self.
