Hear Amon Amarth's New Mosh-Pit Rowing Anthem "Put Your Back Into the Oar"

Viking-metal berserkers unleash first song since 2019

Viking-metal stalwarts Amon Amarth are back with a simple, utilitarian message: "Put Your Back Into the Oar." The Swedish melodeath warriors have dropped their first song since their 2019 album, Berserker, and it's a standalone single that honors the "epic Viking row" that their fans have been miming at shows for years. Listen above while you watch its accompanying video via YouTube.

"We've been quiet over the last two years, but we've been at home in Sweden hard at work behind the scenes," the band said. "Much has been said about fans coming to our shows to have fun and doing the 'epic Viking row.' Well, we thought it was a good idea to write a song about it! This one is for you, the fans, wherever you are — and may Odin guide you as you row to your destiny in uncharted seas! Enjoy the song and video while we continue to work on a new album. We can't wait to see all you heathens soon."

Amon Amarth's unannounced and untitled new record is one of our most anticipated albums of 2022, so we'll be keeping our oars to the seas for more info.
