The divine party god himself, Andrew W.K., is blessing us all with a new sacrament of rock. The enigmatic multi-instrumentalist has announced that his fifth full-length, God Is Partying, will be out September 10th via Napalm Records. As a preview, the deity of festivity has unveiled a majestic new single called "I'm In Heaven."
Compared to the over-the-top hard-rock sound of his beloved 2001 album, I Get Wet, and its subsequent follow-ups, "I'm In Heaven" is a noticeably darker, heavier turn for W.K.. Its main riff is a gargantuan, down-tuned chug that's more doom metal than KISS worship, and W.K. trades his typically mighty yet lighthearted vocal delivery for a torrential bellow that sounds like it could move mountains. Its accompanying music video cuts between W.K. performing with his bandmates and shots of the frontman murdering one of his doppelgangers during some kind of demonic sacrifice. God Is Partying will also include W.K.'s metallic February single, "Babalon," and pre-orders are available here. Additionally, W.K. announced a handful of North American tour dates that will go down this coming September. Peep those along with the new album's artwork and track list below.
