Hear Arch Enemy's Doomy New Crusher "First Day in Hell"

Track appears on Swedish outfit's forthcoming 'Will to Power' LP

Swedish melodic-death-metal outfit Arch Enemy will make their triumphant return this Friday (September 8th) with their new album, Will to Power. Co-produced by Michael Amott and Daniel Erlandsson (the group's guitarist and drummer, respectively) the 12-track follow-up to 2014's War Eternal marks Arch Enemy's first recording with new guitarist Jeff Loomis, formerly of Nevermore, who enlisted three years ago.

Today, Arch Enemy have teamed up with Revolver to unveil Will to Power cut "First Day in Hell." As with previously-shared single "The Eagle Flies Alone," the ripper finds the group tempering its usual thunderous fare with slow, sludgy doom; following an ominous, Eastern-inflected opening salvo, the Swedes go in for the kill with head-spinning riffs, blast beats and, of course, fearsome death growls, courtesy of frontwoman Alissa White-Gluz. Check back tomorrow for an exclusive "Lyric Dissector" video in which the singer breaks down the words to the song and the intensely personal story behind them.
