Hear ASG Raise a Riffy Rock & Roll Toast With New Song "Execution Thirst"

North Carolina crew offer fun single off upcoming 'Survive Sunrise' LP, due on Relapse

North Carolina's ASG specializes in good ol' fashion riffy rock & roll, touching on Southern influences, doom, punk and other genres without ever committing to any one of them. In ASG's universe, the riffs are paramount, but only to the extent that they serve each song overall, and there is an underlying sense of propulsion that's decidedly punk. It's fun stuff — the sort of high-octane music that works best blaring out of a PA system, with a cold can of suds in your hand, doling out a few high-fives.

The group's latest offering is "Execution Thirst," a standout cut on ASG's forthcoming LP Survive Sunrise, due via Relapse on June 15th, and a single that is perfectly timed for this coming Memorial Day weekend. It should appear to fans of the no-frills rock approach, but is never so elementary as to elicit an eye-roll from metalheads who yearn for a bit of complexity. In short, "Execution Thirst" rips, so check it out above along with its gritty, lo-fi video.
