Hear Belgian Post-Hardcore Act Brutus' Soaring, Euphoric New Song "Django"

Genre-smashing trio's latest inspired by "Ennio Morricone, 'Twin Peaks' and Duane Eddy"

Post-hardcore bashers Brutus are back again with a new stunner of a track, and this time they looked to the Western influence of composer Ennio Morricone and the Twin Peaks soundtrack mastermind Angelo Badalamenti for inspiration.

"'Django' represents all the people we've hurt in a personal way, but who we never wanted to hurt for longer than just a few seconds," the band explained in a statement. "The story takes place in the Far West and is our version of a Western soundtrack, inspired by Italian composer Enio [sic] Morricone, Twin Peaks and Duane Eddy."

"Django," taken from the forthcoming LP Nest, blends a desert-like undercurrent with the signature heavy-handed battering of drummer and vocalist Stefanie Mannaerts, whose simultaneously hard-hitting percussive style and ethereally powerful vocals elevate the impact of the string section's airy, distorted riffing. At the track's pinnacle breakdown comes a sturdy bass line that gives depth and weight to the euphoric exploration populating the latter half of the three-minute number.

With the release of Nest just one week away on March 29th via Sargent House and three solid, buzz-garnering tracks already out, Brutus are set to take 2019 by storm. An expansive tour of Europe kicks off April 26th in their homeland Belgium, with several of the trio's dates already sold out.
