Minneapolis-based six-piece black-metal juggernaut False have been steamrolling the U.S. for several years now, delivering their expansive and corrosive take on epic black metal to the masses since forming in 2010.

This year brings us the full-length follow-up to the band's untitled 2015 debut: Portent. The new LP comes to the world via the venerable Gilead Media and the first drop is "A Victual to Our Dead Selves," a 10-plus minute bruiser that wastes no time getting out of the gate and settles into an almost Absu-level of speedy blasts at points, dropping jaws with technical ability and musicality all while keeping interest with complex songwriting. Check out the Portent album-opener below for the first time, and order yours via Gilead Media ahead of its July 12th release.
