Hear Chelsea Wolfe Croon on Converge's Gorgeous New Bloodmoon Song "Coil"

Hardcore leaders' expanded lineup offers up another blazing original

Order Converge's Bloodmoon: 1 on limited-edition "black/navy/neon purple mix" vinyl at Revolver's shop.

Ever since rumors started circulating that Converge would be recording a full-fledged album with an expanded "Bloodmoon" lineup including goth chanteuse Chelsea Wolfe, we here at Revolver have been chomping at the bit. In late September the hardcore trailblazers offered up a first taste in the form of the massive post-metal burner "Blood Moon." Today (November 3rd), they've followed it up with "Coil," a slow-building cut that opens with ethereal tones and Wolfe's alluring croon before crescendoing to a conflagration of hardcore screams and crashing riffage.

"'Coil' turned out to be one of my favorite songs I've ever been a part of," Converge vocalist Jacob Bannon commented. "There is an infectious slow build that ends up becoming theatrical in tone. Lyrically it was a true collaboration, with all of us expanding on each other's ideas as they came to be. I believe Chelsea's vocal was the starting point in that for this one. Kurt really pushed vocal harmonies to a new level as well. Encouraging many of Steve's ideas while we were in the studio tracking together. This one really has everyone of us firing on all cylinders creatively."

Bloodmoon: I is due out November 19th via Epitaph and available now for pre-order in numerous formats. Many of those have already sold out including Revolver's exclusive 2LP "clear/navy cloudy" vinyl variant. We still have limited copies of a "black/navy/neon purple mix" colorway — order yours now before they're gone!
